The outlook is stable, Fitch added in its statement.
In a comment issued the Finance Ministry assured it saw “no negative consequences for Austria.”
Fitch pointed out the financial sector had contributed 11 percentage points to the general government debt.
Furthermore, the economy was recovering slowly, which raised concern about the accuracy of mid-term growth perspectives.
